patch of clock with who cares

What is up today?

June 13th 2026

It feels like every starting journalist has a blog about their experiences, the same way everyone has a Substack. But, in case of this website, it might be fun to have a little archive of things I've been doing or reading.

I suppose shy people can have a career too

If you haven't heard about what Josh O'Connor has been saying to Spielberg while they were working on the movie Disclosure Day, I will be surprised. The actor has been appearing more and more on the big screen, with the latest craze being Wake Up Dead Man. With all that new found fame come lots of articles and written portraits. And while a lot could be said about the attention, I am more curious about what he says in Le Monde.

It is not unlike what Austin Butler mentions in an interview with Hollywood Authentic. Both of them describing themselves as shy children, who grew into sensitive actors. While two actors do not represent the entire industry, it does add to this 'sensitive and thoughtful white boy' type you see around more than you did in the early 00s, when the manly Matthew McConaughey types ruled the screen.

It could be a reflection of society or an act to play into a trend, or maybe we are all trying too hard to be thoughtful now. Not to speak of actors of color, who barely get the chance to be these types. I'm not an expert, I could only guess. Yet, as someone shy in a world that praises that McConaughey confidence, it is good to see shy people succeed in social and public careers. Or, like O'Connor, say they'd rather tend to their garden for a while.

Hey, look at that!

Here's some music, online posts, and books I've been looking at on the internet, that doesn't fit on the main page.
